Judas was framed.

And you thought Christianity was weird. It gets weirder.

It turns out, according the Gospel of Judas (which was recently radio-carbon dated to 300 AD), that Jesus requested that Judas hand him over to the Romans "so he could fulfill his redemptive mission."

This was reported by the Arizona Republic.

why cite the Arizone Republic? what are you suggesting by making this seem like the primary source for this news item? trying to deny that you too read the times, in spite of your lack of a "classical education"?

laziness, actually. this is a blog. that is the link i found for it. in fact, as i wrote it, i thought, "there is actually a scholarly paper behind all this, i should cite that." but then i thought: it's too funny not to cite the arizona republic.
